Claim your power. Own your worth.

Perpetually proving yourself? You’re letting others hold your power. If they’re the judge of your worthiness, they get to hold the keys to the castle of Your Full Potential.

We’ve lost our ability to discern who’s worthy of determining our worth. We’ve set up a system whereby we seek to reclaim our power over and over again. How? People-pleasing, over-using the word “Yes,” obsessively consulting our Instagram accounts, tallying up likes and comments. Taking jobs we don’t want, dating people we don’t love. Earning degrees we don’t need. Measuring ourselves against others. Subsequently getting snagged in the wily trap of comparison.

We’re praise junkies, looking for any opportunity to get another hit – to stand out, be praised, feel special, get the grade.

We’re auctioneers, letting the bids of bystanders determine our worth.

We’re beggars, appealing to others in the hope that we might hear the clinging of their coins of esteem, thanks or approval dropping into our cup.

The only way to liberate ourselves from the fruitless grind of auctioneering, racking up stats, and begging for praise is to reclaim our power and evaluate our own self-worth. This takes a robust inner guidance system, but that can be developed. Through stillness.

The prerequisites are only a willingness to listen and the confidence to act on what you hear. To tune your ear to the song of your intuition and wrap your actions in trust.

With time, you’ll develop your own standards. You’ll become more and more autonomous. Taking back your power calls you to the frontier where there are no signposts or mile markers. Just you and the wilderness. You’ll throw loose the reigns and listen to the instincts that are your birthright.

When you claim your power, you own your worth.
